Pirovac – an idyllic coast in the centre of Dalmatia

Pirovac is situated in a bay with a mild climate, known for its crystal clear and calm sea. See sea temperature. Being close to the Adriatic road makes it easy to visit national parks, the neighboring towns and islands, and above all, it is still possible to have a quiet holiday away from the town crowd.

Waterfalls of the Krka River – a natural karst phenomenon

Krka National Park lies within Šibenik and has the loveliest sections of the Krka and the Čikola Rivers. The park is an exceptional natural value with a preserved ecosystem. There are seven waterfalls and a total drop in altitude of 224 m.


Šibenik – rich history and culture

Situated only 22 km away from Pirovac in a picturesque bay, Šibenik is a town of rich history. A visit to the medieval fortresses of St. Mihovil & St. Ante and the old town are a must – as well as the cathedral of St. Jakov, which is on UNESCO’s world heritage list. Four wells square, Town Hall, the palaces Rossini, Foscolo, Pellegrini and many churches and monuments as well as the largest street in town called „kalelarga“ (wide street).


National Park of Kornati – a nautical paradise

Don’t miss to visit the NP Kornati, which lies on an area of 220 km2 and consists of 89 islands, islets and reefs. One quarter of the park is the mainland while the rest is a marine eco system. The park is rich with high cliffs faced towards the sea. Kornati are also habitats of rare species.


Nature park The Vrana Lake – the largest natural lake in Croatia

The park stretches across 57 km2, 30,02km2 of that being the lake area itself. Vrana Lake is unique for its position and characteristics not only in Croatia but also in other parts of Europe. It is in fact a karst valley filled with brackish water and lies below sea-level.
The predominating characteristic of the park is its special ornithological reserve which is included to the list of Important Bird Areas in Europe.


Prosika channel – fishing, biking and kayaking

Channel Prosika connects the Vrana Lake with the sea. There is a visitor’s info center, sports fishing harbour ideal for those who want to have a picnic. At the harbour Prosika there are bikes and kayaks for rent.


Hill and Makirina – take a natural therapeutic mud treatment

Staying at MIDAV, you have a direct view to the Hill Makirina, which is a micro-ecological and ornithological reserve. The site has been listed on the Nature 2000 list as a natural resource because of its curative mineral mud (peloid) and water which by its quality goes beyond all known sites in Croatia.

The documented therapeutic characteristics of the mud are well known and the mud has been used by the locals for many years and later by the tourists as well. Peloid mud is beneficial for gynecological and rheumatic difficulties.


Zadar – a town monument

The Zadar peninsula is situated 48 km from Pirovac and it is a true reminder of the past. Visit the historic town walls which border the old town, the cathedral of St. Stošija, Forum with the church St. Donat, Five wells square, Town Gate, different monuments, museums and „kalelarga“ (wide street).
Another must see site is Sea Organ – the first in the world and the urban installation The Greeting to the Sun.
